How to Install xfonts-tipa in Ubuntu 18.04



Install xfonts-tipa by entering the following commands in the terminal:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install xfonts-tipa

TIPA is a system for processing IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) symbols in LaTeX written by Fukui Rei. TIPA stands for either TeX IPA or Tokyo IPA and derived from the tsipa package, made in 1992 by Kobayashi Hajime, Fukui Rei and Shirakawa Shun. . This package contains type 1 version of the TIPA fonts for the X Window system. It contains the pfb and afm files. The installed X font has the silipa encoding (see http://www.sil.org/computing/fonts/encore-ipa.html).
